YouthCARE is one of Western Australia's largest not-for-profit organisations. YouthCARE aims to create positive school communities, where students are empowered and encouraged to be the best they can be.  Each year YouthCARE Chaplains help thousands of students, staff and family members in Western Australian public-school communities by providing an essential social, emotional and wellbeing support service.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications (HoMC), this role will be responsible for the creative design, organisation, management and successful delivery of workflows and M&C outputs, meeting predetermined timelines and schedules.

Leading a team with content production responsibilities, this role has two direct reports: the Digital Designer, and the Digital Design and Content Producer.

The role will meet specific key responsibilities and measurables pertaining to content and task delivery, scheduling, media management and response to marketing requests.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provides positive leadership and direction to the team, including recruitment, training, performance management and day to day management, providing clear direction and support to team members.
  • Local and regional travel as required to meet requirements of the role.
  • Provide expertise to effectively plan, direct and coordinate marketing efforts.
  • Develop effective written and verbal communications across the organisation to effectively engage internally, with stakeholders, service providers, and event attendees outside of YouthCARE.
  • Complete reporting on marketing metrics and outcomes, and project progress.
  • Manage and assist in the delivery of marketing workstreams and their owners within marketing and communications via team project boards.
  • Monitor the progression of actionable implementations steps in the marketing strategy.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure smooth running of commercial partnerships and marketing activities.
  • Coordinate marketing activities and assign tasks to relevant team members, ensuring timely execution and adherence to task specifications.
  • Collaborate with HoMC to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target audiences.
  • Manage partnership implementation administration from beginning to end.
  • Write, edit and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, and other marketing material that communicates the organisations activities, products and/or services. Assist with additional content creation as required.
  • Source and develop newsworthy stories for YouthCARE’s website, newsletters and external publications and videos.
  • Source, plan and schedule YouthCARE social media platforms.
  • Monitor media inquiries and schedule interviews in conjunction with HoMC for the organisation.
  • Maintain records of media coverage and collect and manage data in a reportable format to promote YouthCARE’s services, e.g. infographics.
  • Schedule meetings (team and interdepartmental as appropriate).

General

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the performance of the organisation.
  • Upholds the Vision, Mission and Values of the organisation.
  • Comply with YouthCARE’s policies and guidelines.
  • Completes other duties as required by the Head of Pastoral Services.

YouthCARE upholds and promotes ChildSafe policies and procedures.

Essential:

  • Demonstrates a minimum of 2 years team leadership and project management skills and experience including: team workflow management, reporting on specific metrics and measurables based on agreed objectives, development and training (specific to the broader marketing discipline), managing meetings including minutes and actions.
  • Content capture experience covering response to briefs, creating written briefs, story sourcing and interviewing, background research, production of written material (including structural editing for mid-weight copy such as newsletters and feature articles), social media management, web content production and management.
  • Experience in communications by producing and/or contributing to organisation or business-wide internal communications through channels such as intranet, Mailchimp etc., survey creation and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships effectively with those at operational, management and executive/c-suite levels.
  • Demonstrates strong computer literacy skills, especially Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel, and a working familiarity with Adobe Design suite.
  • Must have a valid C-class driver’s license.
  • Able to support the Christian Mission and Vision of YouthCARE.

Desirable:

  • Confidence in public speaking is seen as an advantage.
