Travellers Rest Retreat/Conference Venue

The Travellers Rest is set on 7 1/2 acres of bushland a couple of minutes from the town centre.  It has 17 units that can accommodate 19 -20 people will have their private rooms and en-suites.

There is parking available in front of every unit.

In a shared capacity, there is accommodation for 22 people and for 10 people who desire a private room.  This includes accommodation at the main house.

 We are organised for self- catering and  will cater as required.

 There is an enclosed alfresco communal eating area at the house, ideal for hospitality and relaxation as well as conferences seating comfortable 35 – 45 people.

 The entire house is available for use with a lounge area suitable for communal use and has a worship room with a piano.

  Within our fully landscaped gardens, there is also a separate barbecue area with a pergola and seating.

There is a swimming pool also available for use.

 Directly outside our property is the Railway Heritage Trail for bush walks and cycling and we are only several minutes away from the Mundaring Weir and Lake Leschenaultia.

YouthCARE Peer Skills 2 day Facilitator training

3&4 May 2017, Perth Modern School – 90 Roberts Rd, Subiaco WA 6008

 

An opportunity to be trained as a Peer Skills Facilitator, please fill in the registration form and send to training@youthcare.org.au   

Cost:  YouthCARE chaplains Free  Cost for other agencies:  $200 per day ($400 for both days)  
 
Peer Skills is a high school program designed to equip students to assist and support their peers. The program is targeted towards 14-18 year old students, and is often utilised as leadership and/or mentoring training.
Peer Skills is run in a school as a two-day workshop, and covers the following topics:
– understanding values and attitudes
– listening skills
– problem solving
– conflict resolution
– getting help/support networks
– looking after yourself (when you’re helping someone else)
It’s a games/activity-based interactive program designed to provide skills, knowledge and strategies to assist young people to develop self-understanding and effective supportive relationships.
