Chaplaincy Funding

Good morning everyone.

We are pleased to inform you that the Education Minister, Peter Collier has confirmed that the State Government has extended its level of support for In School chaplaincy services:

I am very pleased to confirm for 2017 and 2018, the State Government has committed a further $10.48 million for In School Chaplaincy services. Chaplains provide a vital service to our students and I’m delighted that this funding has been announced. When this government came to power in 2008, chaplains were only available in 236 of our 800 public schools. This funding ensures that all schools continue to have the opportunity to apply for In School chaplaincy funding.

Planning for the implementation of the 2017/2018 School Chaplaincy Program is underway with the Department of Education and details regarding the program arrangements will be available in the near future.

We’re grateful for the continued support of all of our stakeholders, who recognise the important contribution that YouthCARE chaplains make in WA public school communities.

Yours sincerely

Acting CEO
