  • Workshop 2: There will only be one workshop after Morning Tea. You will have the chance to select your first and second preference among the following: (*New in 2015)
  • * Active Storytelling – Learning that involves movement is engaging and especially important for younger children. Learn how to take a Bible text and craft a story with repeated actions and phrases for the children to join in, for active learning.
  •  * Drama – How and when can you use drama in CRE and clubs? This workshop will give examples of using drama as an icebreaker, to introduce and explore an idea, to engage with a Bible story and to reinforce application, from Yr 1 to Yr 6.
  • How to Use Digital Media in Your Class – Get hands-on help with preparing, setting-up and using technology to engage today’s kids in a CRE lesson or club. Bring your own laptop / iPad/ tablet, or share one of Steve’s who loves teaching kids the Bible in a visual way.
  •  Interactive Whiteboard – From the basics of turning on an interactive whiteboard to trying out some resources, this workshop is for those who want to use this exciting technology for CRE teaching or clubs.
  •  * Making the Most of Christmas and Easter – This workshop will give creative ideas, helpful examples and show great resources to help you make the most of Christmas and Easter in our public schools.
  •  Maximising Teaching Time, Minimising Discipline – Timed challenges, circuit breakers, grabbing the kids’ attention, help with planning – this session is a treasure trove of ideas that will help you make the most of your 30min CRE class.
  •  Music – Music is a great tool for introducing and reinforcing what you are teaching. How do you find good songs? What’s appropriate for CRE?  What about upper primary? This workshop will cover these questions and more, and have you singing as you leave!
  •  Puppets – Be inspired to give puppets a go! Puppets that don’t speak, puppets that don’t come out of a box, puppets made out of everyday items as well as creative ways to use puppets to engage the children you teach.
