YouthCARE is currently seeking professional people who can offer commitment and service in serving their community. As a School Chaplain you would be providing pastoral care, providing practical help to staff and students in a range of areas, acting as a positive role model, and addressing the spiritual needs of the school community.
YouthCARE has a range of full-time and part-time positions available.
In order to be successful in this role you must possess the following:
- A recognised tertiary level qualification in Theology, Pastoral Care, Community Development, Social Work, Social Sciences, Aboriginal Studies, Youth Work or similar;
- A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the area of outreach, youth work, family support, case management or counselling;
- Well developed communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Computer literacy skills with the ability to collect statistical data related to service delivery
- Demonstrated ability to work across Christian denominations, faiths and cultures;
- Ability to work with a broad cross section of the school community
- A current, or the ability to obtain a, Working with Children Card
- A current, or the ability to obtain a, DET CRIMTRAK
The position offers a commencement salary of $37,020.00 per annum, with an attractive salary packaging scheme which is unique to our industry.
